As a child, did you ever want to do pull-ups like all the “strong kids?” Well, in most cases, all that stands between you and an epic pull-up is the know-how. In other words, all you have to do is understand the body mechanics behind a pull-up and then start working your way there.
This week we turn to Dr. Kathy Dooley of “Dr. Dooley-Noted” to show us how to conquer the pull-up. Dr. Dooley is a chiropractor and one strong woman. She’s recently captured Lyn’s respect and admiration with the quality of content shared in her videos. Her actual practice is within Catalyst SPORT, the gym she co-owns in NYC. Kathy also teaches anatomy at two NYC medical schools and is an adjunct professor at New York University College of Dentistry.
Let’s learn step-by-step as Dr. Dooley teaches the “hollow position” and encourages us to start by practice hanging from a bar. Follow her tutorial from start to finish and advance your way up to a killer pull-up. We’d love to know about your successes. ( A.K.A. Send us videos!)
P.S. if you don’t have a playground or gym near-by, don’t let that stop you. The button below you’ll find a doorway pull-up bar. This is what Lyn uses at home.
